Resound (verb): fill a place with sound; be loud enough to echo.
I tried many instruments growing up - piano, guitar, saxophone before eventually, finding the glorious trumpet. In our home, the trumpet had the ability to break through moments, fill the space and leave an echo. This Advent, we journey through the stories of God’s goodness found in unexpected places. In these stories, God’s goodness broke through moments, filled the space and echoed across eternity with authority.
The birth of Jesus is a joyful shout in the midst of a broken world. It is a pronouncement of love that resounds for all to hear - the King has arrived! God’s love isn’t merely the declaration of heaven, but the beautiful gift of God coming to earth, entering into the mess, and making something new.
Through the stories of 4 Biblical women, we will see that hope, peace, love and joy resound through their lives and into ours. May we learn to listen for, and experience God’s goodness in each moment of this Advent together.
